Salut, fellow Cairanne owners,

Merci to Dave for setting up this blog!  It's a great way to share experiences and suggestions.

I am just back from another lovely stay at our beautiful apartment.  Having been there 3 times now (I'm done for the year--too bad!) I must say it feels like home now when I walk in the door.  I never will tire of the view and of the way the whole room floods with light, especially in the afternoon.

This time I had some relatives visit (2 stayed with me at the apartment and the others did not), and everyone was totally wowed when they walked in.  It worked perfectly as a place to gather and have an apéro before heading out to dinner!

I had to call the offices for 2 minor problems.  The clothes washer/dryer machine backed up and would not drain so a maintenance person came in and said the problem was that there were dryer sheets blocking up the machine.  So they posted a reminder on the machine to not put them in!

I also just wanted PP to know that (as we already know) the dining room chairs are not very stable at all, and all 4 already had cracks and chips.  Lisa said she is aware that this is a problem and our apartment is not the only one with them, so they will likely be replaced.

I agree with Dave and Margaret that La Campanella is great for a casual meal, and I discovered the Bistrot Belhara on this trip and would highly recommend it (and its incredible soufflé that I inhaled!).  It's just one street past rue Cler on rue Duvivier.  In my opinion, one of the best things about the Cairanne is its location and the wealth of great shops, restaurants, attractions, etc. just steps out our door!

Santé, and wishing you a wonderful stay!

Hi All,

Margaret and I had a great stay at Cairanne from 4/13 through 4/27.

 - As usual, Rue Cler was amazing and visiting it was relaxing. The freshly squeezed orange juice at Top Halles (on the corner of Grennelle and Cler) is tremendous - we enjoyed a glass every day!

 - We found a dry cleaner that was very accommodating. The Sequoia on Rue Dupont des Loges.

 - Restaurant Campanella on the corner diagonally across from Cairanne (Bosquet and Dominique) is very good.

 - As some may already know, one of the really nice places to get a crepe is La Creperie les Ecuries. it is a block or so off the Champs Elysees on 5 Rue Washington.

 - One of the weirder things that occurred was that there was some kind of sewage situation which wafted up the central staircase and elevator and slightly into our place. it was more severe on the lower floors. We let PP know, not sure what occurred but hopefully not an issue going forward.

 - We left a couple of door stoppers in the drawer under the TV. we like to have the windows open and this prevents the doors from slamming closed.
